surviving

It's much easier to consider surviving and thriving in France when you remember all the other potentially life-threatening trials we have faced, and over which we have triumphed.  Such as out-running and out-gunning the AT-AT walker in the Battle of Hoth in the Galactic Civil War, as seen in the photo here.

found in translation?

"If you tell me about France, I'll tell you about America..."
"Je ne comprends pas."
"I'm 6 years old and I like anything pink..."
"Sur le pont d’Avignon,
L'on y danse tous en rond..."

do you speak ninja?

New friends!  We had fun playing ninja, because we all speak ninja...

The cave behind us has a spring that goes down far.  We met some scuba-spelunkers here from Germany.  They said there's nothing to compare where they come from.  So literally, dive down into that pool behind us (which looks about the size of a swimming pool) and it goes down...down...down... and they're still not sure how far it goes.  Jacques Cousteau doesn't even know.  I'm serious!
